Sue Morris was born in England and is a graduate of the Royal College
of Art, London. Since the early nineties she has lived in Ireland,
most recently in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Morris has exhibited extensively in Ireland, the UK and internationally.
Recent exhibitions and screenings include those at Photophobia Festival
of Contemporary Moving Image, Ontario, Canada; 16:9 Gallery, Lawrence
University, Michigan, U.S.A; A3 Gallery, State Institute of Culture,
Moscow, Russia; the Queen Street Studios Gallery, Belfast, Northern Ireland;
the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry, Northern Ireland; the Lockhart Gallery,
State University New York, USA; the Kunstverein Galerie, Baden bei
Wien and museumORTH, Orth an der Danau, Austria, as part of the International
Cultural Programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the EU and Artisterium
7,International Contemporary Art Exhibition, Tibilisi, Georgia.
Recent awards and bursaries include Individual
Artists Project Awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Derry/Strabane CoCo Artists and Cultural Practitioners Awards
and the Artists Travel Bursary from Culture Ireland.
